Since earlier this year, we have been hosting tea parties in our Charleston, SC retail store through Airbnb Experiences. I only recently found out that you can book experiences in addition to apartments on Airbnb. The experiences - different activities you can try out in cities around the world - are hosted by locals with insider knowledge. We wanted our customers and guests to have a more dynamic experience of our store and of Charleston, and we wanted to be able to share our local knowledge and love of the city with them.
Charleston, SC is home to North America's only Tea Plantation and is also filled with local sweet spots like Sugar bakeshop and Wildflour Pastry (a James Beard Award Winning Bakery) from whom we source our baked goods, so naturally tea at Candy Shop Vintage seemed like a perfect fit.
You can book one of our vintage style tea parties on Airbnb for groups of up to ten people. We'll greet you and your guests with a glass of champagne and you will have the opportunity to browse and shop at a 15% discount while the store is closed for you. You'll get a brief history of our shop, our brand and Downtown Charleston while you enjoy your tea and treats. Special dietary requests can be made in advance of the reservations. This has been a hugely popular experience among friends visiting Charleston and even locals celebrating something special. Each guest gets to go home with their own Charleston, SC teacup and saucer which can also be purchased online and any Candy Shop Vintage goodies they might want to snag.
